Inspired by the Grand Cafés of Paris, Balzac’s Coffee Roasters was brought to life by a burning ambition to bring that culture to the Great White North i.e. Canada. The company was founded in Stratford, Ontario in 1996, led by the entrepreneurial and artistic vision of one woman – Diana Olsen. They roast the finest selection of high grown Arabica beans in single 35 or 70 kilogram batches with the eco-friendly Loring Smart Roaster, reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to a conventional coffee roaster. The Loring Smart Roaster is the most environmentally friendly roaster on the market today, based on their design which eliminates the need for a secondary afterburner system to deal with the naturally occurring smoke in the roast process.
You probably noticed that Balzac's switched from bags to cans for their ground coffee. Why? They’re resealable (helps maintain freshness) and recyclable. Also, they look great!
